Hi Paul, cheers for the write up. I saw this on Zen's blog but wanted to read it straight from the horse's mouth.
CityFibre have been working in batches here, and they dug up my neighbourhood recently. They initially partnered with Vodafone, I think, but I'm hoping that when orders go live -- postcode checker says they'll be 'building soon' ! -- that the exclusivity will have ended and I'll be able to stay with Zen, who I've been really happy with. Hope you have a good experience with them too.
PS I appreciate your site's clean, minimal theme, very neat. I was however unable to preview a comment- it says "This is a preview only! Do not forget to send your comment!", but it doesn't show the comment, and the form loses the text. Not the end of the world but I figured you'd want to know.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah you should be able to order through Zen, they've added an additional ISP down here too now. Presumably their partners will be setup and offering services from it soon in all regions. Cityfibre service has been great, speeds very consistently above 700mbps. A couple of outages I've noticed, a brief planned loss of service in the middle of the night for a minute or so - and then a unannounced two hour outage in the middle of the night. So not bad for about 6 months.
Yeah the CMS has been quite heavily modified over the years, I'm not going to lie - I don't test it much. It's been on the to-do list to move it away from a CMS and onto a static site generator for a few years, but haven't got around to it yet as the traffic is so low these days its hard to prioritise it. :-)

Hope so! Very happy with them, though I was mildly concerned to see that Vodafone had signed another '500m deal', I hope that doesn't mean going back to exclusivity. CF's checker still says "We'll soon start building our Full Fibre network in your area." but hopefully that will change soon!
Funnily enough I was also looking at static-ifying my prehistoric Wordpress CMS, but I've not done anything there yet because I'm not sure what I would do about comments -- I like to self-host the things I use. I will say that I am very impressed with the speed of your site- I thought it was in fact static given how snappy it is.
Cheers for the extra info!
