The BBC have an article up on Adobe's Flash software, and how full versions of it are going to start making their way to phones.

Of course in Windows Mobile land we've already had a Flash capable browser for some time, Skyfire.

But saying that it's nice that Adobe are getting off their backsides and doing some work, their Flash page for Windows Mobile has been coming soon for a while, well if you exclude Flash Lite which has been available for some time.

I am happy that the article did say this:

If you're an iPhone user, as always you're screwed.

Yes I suppose I was paraphrasing, with Apple's authoritarian, anti-competitive and probably illegal handling of their platform, namely preventing any application that competes with any of theirs being available that leaves their users stuffed. Safari, the browser that ships in the iPhone has no plug-in system at all. Leaving Flash out in the cold, not only that Adobe and Mozilla can't get together and release a version of Firefox for the iPhone that has Flash support because Apple won't allow any application that competes with any of their own applications.

I really don't know how the Apple fanboys can put up with this. When Microsoft bundled Internet Explorer with Windows, they complained like hell. Now Apple bundles Safari, and worse prevents any other browser from being released on the platform, they're giving a free pass.

Just imagine what the uproar would be if Microsoft preventing all other browsers from running on Windows. That is the sort of reaction Apple should be getting for the joke of a smartphone. Not having Flash should hopefully start to wear down Steve Jobs' ego.
