HD DVD inching ahead

29th August 2007 in Technology

On top of last week's shock announcement of Paramount and Dreamworks going HD DVD exclusive, HD DVD has pulled ahead on Amazon.com. From eProductwars.com:

Sales rank top 10 HD DVD vs Blu-ray

Average sales rank of the top 10 products for HD DVD (in black) and Blu-ray (in blue).

Number of HD DVD and Blu-ray in the Top 100

Number of HD DVD and Blu-ray titles in the top 100 "DVD"s. A sign of things to come I hope, let's get this format war over and done with quick, looks like the media are running some stories of Blu-ray losing already.

Good ol' Rob Enderle! Quite the credible source you've found. How many more times will he continue predicting the death of Apple?

The source for the sales figures is Amazon, so yes I'd say that's pretty credible.

No Paul, I meant the link to the media story you posted in which Rob Enderle makes yet another one of his laughable tech predictions. This hack has been predicting Apple will fold since 1995.

He also predicted Blu-ray would win ;) My point was that Blu-ray isn't getting good press coverage which will further weaken it.

I'm expecting a follow-up article with the title "HD-DVD dropping below Blu-ray AGAIN". You were so excited about these 3 days of win for HD-DVD (due to an action for both on Amazon) it's just so hilarious to see sales drop again.
