Hi and welcome to the Cyberdemon Project.
Well the work at converting the DOOM midi into something a little different, has hit 'post-DOOMage' (20/09/03) aka we've got a good load of music done, dusted, something I feel is ready for public consumption.
The download itself (45MB in total, Ogg Vorbis @ quality level .4) can be found at http://www.fileplanet.com/files/130000/130517.shtml.
Here's a quick run down from the release readme:
About:
This project (named the Cyberdemon Project, a lot of thought went into the name
as you can tell!) was to
put it basically enhance the quality of the original DOOM soundtracks. I'd
thought I'd try a different
sound (less of the overdriven and distorted guitars), a much more acoustic
sound, guitars and pianos and
the like.
It started around about August 2002, the Hanger and Bunny (didn't make this
release) tracks were the
only ones that ended up being done. Then nothing happened for a long time, until
around August 2003,
when Entryway and a few days later Slough of Despair were finished mainly out of
sheer boredom. Along
came September, and I decided to add a few more tracks, with a bit of
encouragement a few became quite a
lot! With DOOM's 10th birthday around the corner why not tidy it up a little and
make it something more
then a couple of mouldy old tracks on my hard drive?
What's Next?
Good question, there are still a lot of DOOM tracks to do, could they be done?
May be one day in the
future.
Release changes:
1.1 - Minor volume changes, normalized using both RMS and peak levels, with some
added manual tweaking,
few minor changes to the readme.txt file too. :)
1.0 - Original public release.
Websites:
http://www.dasmirnov.net/cyberdemon/ - This is the kind of homepage of the
project, although there is
nothing much there, if anything does come into existence this is where it will
be.
http://www.doom3portal.com/ - This
happens to be a DOOM 3 fansite that I run.
Thanks to:
Hannah Hill. Without her encouragement this project wouldn't probably never of
got here.

You're free to listen to this (even listen to while you're playing DOOM), you're
free to give it to your
friends post it on the internet, delete it, burn it onto CD, chop it up and
stick it back together etc.
However you are not free to 'sell' this, not counting any distribution costs
(the cost of a CD to put it
on for example). Proper credit should always be given; DOOM is the property of
id Software, Robert
Prince composed all the original tracks, and finally myself for this particular
version 'post-DOOMage'.
