125 HD DVDs for the last quarter
Looks like Universal, Paramount and Warner are putting the pressure on the BDA, they've announced 125 HD DVD titles will be released in the last quarter of the year, about 75 of which were previously unannounced.
Nice to see the HD DVD camp actually delivering, which is more than the Blu-ray camp are doing, which is just talking about how amazing they are without actually releasing anything, other than Sony's new $1300 Blu-ray player... Good luck with that one.

Not delivering? The only big movies coming out on HD DVD are Transformers, which is officially lacking any kind of lossless audio, and Shrek 3, which many reviews say has no reason to exist it's so bad. Most of Fox's catalog titles recently announced are FAR better than anything new coming out on HD DVD. I would call POTC: At World's End, Close Encounters, Live Free Or Die Hard, just to name a few, a confirmation of delivery.

Okay you really need to open your eyes. There are plenty of films coming to Blu Ray in Q4 of this year. Paramount did go to HD DVD yes, but both Fox and Disney have announced 30 titles each that will be exclusive to Blu Ray, as well as releases by Starz/Anchor Bay. Fox has several big titles coming to Blu Ray that hd dvd fans will not be getting. Some of them being the following: The Die Hard series, From Hell, Fantastic Four: The Rise Of The Silver Surfer, and Prison Break Season 1. Starz will have Halloween, Day Of The Dead, Dawn Of The Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Seasons 1 and 2 of The Masters Of Horror. Disney will have Cars, Rataoullie, Pirates Of The Caribbean At World's End, Finding Nemo, and Lost. Not to mention what Sony/Columbia Pictures has, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind(Spielberg films won't be seeing release on hd dvd), and The Spider Man Triolgy among MANY MORE that were announced. Oh and one last thing, when we get Harry Potter on Blu Ray they will be one disc instead of two unlike hd dvd, which due to size and technical limitations will have to be on two. Not to mention that both Panansonic and Disney have tours to promote Blu Ray for the holidays. Where did you get that Sony was releasing a $1300 player? Even if they were to do so, are you saying that a cheap piece of shit $199 chinese hd dvd player will convert anyone? Like they say you get what you pay for.

I'm confused. You are in Europe right? Wouldn't the IFA announcements be more relevant? Are you focusing on the CEDIA announcements because you were disappointed in the lack of a response from the HD DVD camp?
I suppose the announced BD players from several companies and the announced BD titles from Warner, Disney and Fox are of no interest to you either?
The BDA already announced most the their strategy at the IFA.
I own both formats. You should consider trying out both formats before passing judgement.

Hey buddy, you forgot to mention the Star Trek phaser remote! If that doesn't sway the war in hd-dvd's favor, nothing will! Actually, I believe the remote has been out for awhile cuz all you hd zealots seem to be "stunned."
