Windows is the most secure operating system
According to Symantec it is. In their 11th internet security report, part of which tracked vulnerabilities and fix times for operating systems in the last half of 2006 they found the following:
Microsoft's Windows came in first place with 39 vulnerabilities discovered and Microsoft took on average 22 days to fix them.
Red Hat Linux came in second place with 208 vulnerabilities and an average fix time of 58 days.
Apple's Mac OS X ranked 3rd place with 43 vulnerabilities and an average fix time of 66 days.
Hewlett Packard's HP-UX had 98 vulnerabilities and took them 101 days to release a fix.
Sun's Solaris came in last place with 63 vulnerabilities with a fix time of 122 days.
Looks pretty much the same as the first half of the year. Microsoft's security investment is paying off. 2006 was a solid year for Microsoft on the security front. With how 2007 has started its going to get even better.

Windows "the most secure system" my ass.
ha ha ha
My belly is hurting for so much laughing.
Windows is a "old" operating system, with millions of users worldwide. Everyday hundreds of people complaints about this and that.
On UNIX, users are mainly geeks. Everyone
gets the machine working and adapt it to
himself. Do you hear a lot about Unix
servers being invaded? nah
What about Windows? yeah
But the worst are not the servers, but the damn operating system itself. If used as desktop, its only useful to play games and few more.
Its always a headache and extremely expensive to buy GOOD software for it.
The OS itself is a expensive burden, then it comes the OFfice suite, the firewall(cause the one that came with OS sucks hard), then it comes the Anti virus, the anti spyware and a bunch of craps that WE NEED, CAUSE MICROSOFT DONT GIVE A DAMN for its clients.
O.S. should be secure since the moment we buy it. Something like BSD does.
AND.....O.S. windows should not be caring ONLY ABOUT THE FUKA DAMN RIGHTS OF THE DVDS CREATORS, CINEMA MAKERS AND OTHER BUNCH OF MORONS.
Windows should care about THE ALL. Not only about the BIG companies.
I only use windows to play games. I moved VB, C++,...,to Mono in Linux, and im learning UNIX Solaris. I hope to move definitly to there.
